How is the correct answer not in the poll???
She's asking a personal question man, there is no 'correct' way to type, typing is just typing some methods are better but it's all personal preference and people type different.
She's asking what they use not what they should be using.
I rarely use the actual shift key, most of my keys are remapped completely. The left alt key beside my space bar is how I use shift all the time.
Most people I know do only use one shift key, and using the shift closest to what you want to capitalize is faster than using the opposite because you only need to use one hand. (although if speed is a must for you I suggest remapping completely it really helps)

By "correct" I meant "proper"/the way it usually taught.
IMO, hitting the opposite shift is faster because when my right pinky reaches out for the R-shift, my other fingers move a little bit with it. Hitting two keys with the same hand often requires awkward positioning, such as capital O. And what happens when you need a capital A, Q, or Z?
