There should have been an in game poll for players to decide whether they felt this way. Because realistically the feature was entirely unnecessary.

Realistically being able to change your flag is completely unnecessary though. As it's being said it's for informing people what country you live in, not anything else and there's no real issue with privacy as it's only your country. From what I've seen there's way more reasons for having the flag set automatically.
