Anyway, all you were measuring when you say "it feels so good" was a smooth framerate. You cant visually measure your own client-side lag or server-side lag just by walking around. You will always see yourself in real time. Buying the newest hardware doesnt magically solve lag.
With that said, no, I havent noticed any really bad server lag that is bad enough to complain over. Lag caused by playercount depends on the day and time of day; so sometimes it's a little noticeable, but not as bad as it was earlier in the year.
