I wouldn't worry about the jail/ban history (unless you have alot of them for certain stuff like: racism, sexual harassment etc(that would be deffo No)

Attitude plays alot in recruitment imo(so even things you may seem are ok could be a put off-i.e for instance if competive against another guild but start trashtalking on them/while attacking them etc), also being honest if you have got some history then state it on your app (I personally have alot via hacking/glitching etc but that was from ages ago when on classic)
