Still not close to the level with Japan. We have America who hire anyone that sounds good, has education and experience in the department and willing to work. Then there's Japan where competition is big and many people have crushing life being unable to get work. Many companies gets the bests to voice their anime. Just watch Sore ga Seiyuu and ShiroBako and you can see how life of voice actors in Japan is on another level comparative to America.

In my eyes dubs are catching up to subs in their consistency. You say that America will hire people that are good yet you also that Japan also hires people that are good and i have no idea what point you are trying to make here but if you are suggesting that companies such as Funimation just hire average voice actors then thats a stupid statement to make
