The amount of stuff you can do in this game is pretty amazing. As someone who have never played any Metal Gear Solid, is it ok to jump straight to The Phantom Pain?

Also would like to point out if you want to get up to speed with the MGS story in TPP I suggest watching the playthroughs of MGS Peace Walker and Snake Eater.
After watching Peace Walker, the story seems a lot clearer to me and I'll probably have a look at Snake Eater if I have time.
But let's be honest, the MGS story is ****ing amazing. Hideo Kijima dominates with this material.
