The weather can be turned off for "lag", people won't get tired of random weather generation.... It gives the world life. Ever played minecraft? Zelda games have it as well.
Calling people "noobs" for participating in something that you don't is ridiculous. I don't participate in blob killing, but I would if blob lasted more time, and I didn't need a friend to pm me that the blob has spawned, nor would I have to wait at swamp for hours.
