Today I received a letter on what subjects I have been given for this year in school, and unfortunately, my lines have not worked. Long story short, I have to choose between Japanese and another subject called STEMED (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics: Entrepreneurial Design).
I have been studying Japanese since Kindergarten and the teacher makes it very enjoyable (we mostly play games but we do learn a lot from them!). I'm doing well in it and the language would be valuable to learn. I'm afraid that if I drop this subject I won't be able to pick Japanese up again next year and will have to continue Latin next year. (I'm getting a bit complicated, but next year I am going to do German, latin/japanese, and Maths Method Foundation). Latin is my best subject but not my favourite. And finally, my volleyball coach is the Japanese teacher and expects me to do Japanese this year.
STEMED is a new class that's being introduced this year that focuses on engineering a product and marketing it. This also comes a long with leaning how to code in Objective C, for iOS apps. Again, I'm doing well in science/maths and would most likely enjoy this subject. We'd be using a 3D printer and engineering while learning about economics, both of which I would love to go into for a career. This class is not offered for me next year either.
Right now, I'm thinking I'll continue with Japanese but that means I'd be studying three languages (which hasn't been difficult for the last year). As quite a few Graalians are knowledgable on both of these subjects I'd appreciate any advice that could be given to me on them!
