I remember hearing about this a year ago, I still want a rom of mother 64 leaked. But a man can dream though....

Sadly, the beta they were working on was mostly incomplete. And the ideas behind it basically became Mother 3 for GBA, which was a more suitable format for it anyway. Here's a good comparison of the two.
