Depends what you mean by young age. I remember taking off with a girl when I was like 10 to "make out", I didn't have a clue what I was doing, but I know I was happy. It was funny because all we did was held our lips together for like a minute at a time. The point being that I was already interested in girls.
I also know a woman that became a grandmother before she was 30. Do the math and it's very young.

Being that only 2% of the world is gay I don't think it would get a lot of "high praise". Definitely not #1 movie in America material.
