Yep, except I wasn't asleep. Sleep paralysis varies but when it happens to me, my eyes will be open but I have no control over any bit of my body. This happens for many reasons but I find that if I don't eat before I sleep I'm good. Stress and all that good stuff are also factors.
To those who haven't experienced it, imagine your entire body being paralyzed including the movement of your eyes. Your eyes just open for a while and then you fall back asleep a bit later. Sometimes you'll also be dreaming, wake up, and still have the dream running but your eyes are open, while completely paralyzed. It's scary for those who are looking at the door while this happens, it's common to see figures moving towards you as you lay there helpess.

Odd, I'm normally able to move my eyes. I find waking up while in sleep paralysis somewhat calming. Though it is annoying when you have to spend the next minute or so trying to force your body to wake up. Haven't had any terrors while awake and paralyzed either.

So lucky that I'm usually facing the wall when I experience sleep paralysis. Pretty sure I'd see all kinds of stupid **** if I were facing the room.
I think there are a lot of good articles on how to handle lucid dreaming. One suggested that you simply stare at a clock, if it makes sense then you're awake. If you're asleep the clock will be inconsistent or something to that extent.

I'm pretty sure that's if you keep looking away from the clock and then back to it, it'll always change. Only problem is that you wouldn't think twice of it really. That does remind me though, I've always had these freaky and creepy dreams that for some ****ing reason, a little kid; no face or anything as it's usually covered in darkness. This ****ing kid makes no noises but always seems to run around out of the corner of my eye when it's in dark places. I always catch a glimpse of him running from one hiding place to another and it freaks the ever loving hell out of me.
He also wear blue overalls with a red shirt and seems to be about 6. This has been going on since I've for about 12 years.
Also, I do remember one odd awaken instance. I was in the view of this weird beast with long-ass claws and its mouth gaping open with lots of sharp and blood stained teeth. I just watched as he walked closer and closer to me, yet I didn't feel freaked out or anything. It stopped once he got to my bed and then I woke up.

How do you people wake up and remember your dream?? O.o
|
I don't know, but some I just remember vividly. Oddly enough, I've had dreams about made up places or people I'd play with in my dreams when I was like 4 or 5 and completely forget about them, then a year ago I had dreams about them, but they were so desolate, worn down, rugged and just like they lost their will to live. Depressing.
Holy hell I love talking about dreams and ****.
