Yep, except I wasn't asleep. Sleep paralysis varies but when it happens to me, my eyes will be open but I have no control over any bit of my body. This happens for many reasons but I find that if I don't eat before I sleep I'm good. Stress and all that good stuff are also factors.
To those who haven't experienced it, imagine your entire body being paralyzed including the movement of your eyes. Your eyes just open for a while and then you fall back asleep a bit later. Sometimes you'll also be dreaming, wake up, and still have the dream running but your eyes are open, while completely paralyzed. It's scary for those who are looking at the door while this happens, it's common to see figures moving towards you as you lay there helpess.
