Sadly no one has found a way to overcome this bug, and Stefan has never responded to my e-mails about it. Again, this is why CTF was closed. .5 hearts is just the most obvious side-effect of the bug. There are a lot of creeping effects that occur alongside the glitch that aren't quite as obvious.

there's another peculiar one (might be related) where you swing the sword, even in non-pk areas, after you press the 'enter' button while chatting or sending a message... it can get annoying to have people claim you're "hacking" or something when they see this.
