Get a ps4. Ps3 will be dead within 2015. By then most people will have upgraded to next gen and games will be stopped being made for current gen.

He already said he wants a PS3 only. I didn't get an Xbox 360 until 4 years after it came out and I was still fine. I've had 5 years with it before the Xbox One was released. I highly doubt it will be dead in 2015. I have yet to see games released for next-gen consoles that hold much more significance over the Xbox 360/PS3. Most of them have been multi platform.
