Back in the day when I was young and enthusiastic about Graal you had to apply just as most other positions, but for a non developer it was the easiest position to be a part of (besides maybe a FAQ/PR position). I moved my way up to Events Admin on original Delteria and ran the team, and it was one of my favorite jobs at the time. I developed and had a lot of positions regarding those lines of work, but ultimately coordinating global sparring events and running the team of ET's was really fun. These days it seems more popular to automate events so ET's are becoming the front counter workers of fast food joints, being replaced by AI.
