I'm not sure if Comyt was specifically referring to Alumni when he said "your guild" and "your members"
|
I'm sure he wasn't, but I'm using specific examples to question why he thinks certain things - I have 0 experience in other guilds and don't pay attention to most of what happens in other guilds, so I can't really provide any actual examples other than what goes on in Alumni

Maybe the behavior is positive in some circumstances rather than negative.

I don't see what's wrong with it at all - two more examples that are personal and relative to my own guild:
- Sarah and I did not get along when we first met and she actually made some parody guild about Alumni being "boosters," we talked about it and I realized she wasn't a bad person and was just messing around and doing what she wanted - we started talking more and after a while I decided I'd ask her if she wanted to join the guild because I noticed that she was really quiet and just sparred a ton (and is good at it), and I like that
- Never really got along with Eko and argued with him on these forums before, but upon him asking to join the guild we started talking and he seems like a cool person - why should I not give someone the chance to help the guild, even if it may be out of personal benefit to themselves?
So, what I'm saying is that Comyt acts as if the "guild helps player while player helps guild" relationship is some bad or poisonous one, but it isn't. That's what it's supposed to be. That's what causes people to establish some sort of loyalty to the guild and what causes the guild or leader of the guild to feel as if certain players are really important to them.
