FMA seems very simple at first. I mean its only about the elric vrothers trying to get their bodies back after commiting the ultimate taboo for an alchemist (human transmutaion) so they search for an object known as a philosopher's stone but as they search deeper they find out a plot that has spanned over 500 years that could result in the end of the world
The issue with envy is pretty clear. As he was jealous of humans (hence his name) he wanted Ed and Mustang to feel pity for him as he wanted them to be jealous for once. Plus he is also a coward i mean sheesh

If you think that was the main plot. You are mistaken. The main plot is literally just Sorata taking care of Shiina like a pet in Sakurasou, hence the english name Pet Girl of Sakurasou. What you thought was the main plot was actually just another arc in the story, like Since Sorata and Shiina are still living in Sakurasou for one more year, they can, and the light novel author has indeed, made more for the series. |
