talon is it worth buying like $300 iems will i actually notice a difference if i only listen from my ipod/phone/computer

depends which IEMs, you can get a Senn IE8 or EarSonics SM3 at that price, both sound brilliant and are a completely noticeable jump for sub-$100s
Or you can save some $$$$$ and buy a UE TF10, bang-for-buck king. Goes for $130ish on Head-Fi or maybe eBay, sound is comparable to my HD25.
and none of them require amping so any source is fine
