Is this a surprise? Nintendo tried the whole "just give them power!" with the Gamecube and they got ****ed. Now they're too scared to go that route anymore and need to try to think outside the box to win people over. If more developers and players supported the Gamecube, Nintendo may have never gone down this road(or may have, Miyamoto is just that kind of person).

No, I'm saying that it won't matter in the long run because good games will be made anyways and the big features aren't important, but that won't detract from gameplay.
