Still not seeing why you even compare spar to events.
1. Anyone can spar at anytime. Ec winning events aren't always on.
2.Seeing that, it limits to players to winning (which I understand for events)
3. The only way I can see events being compared to spar is by the "prizes" you get, though you don't "pay" for spar hats. Which means spar isn't limited unlike events.

But because nothing can be done about hoarders, I'm not going to bother complaining ;) Do what you want, as long as it's what you guys enjoy (and are good at).
