There was no form of "pocket transportation" like horses on iClassic and the soonish-to-be Railroad system. iClassic is also a pretty condensed overworld.

when i first played i thought i had to pay 2500 every time i died. i didn't know that i could just tap on the icon in my inventory
edit:
it wasn't until i got my 40k horse that i was able to access all the morphs, bombs and other stuff i previously bought.
