think it is just another butchered American holiday, like st. Patricks day. People seem to pull together their own traditions based on cultural stereotypes and celebrations.

Yeah - I know a bit about Mexican traditions and wasn't a bit surprised by the items being Mexican cultured stereotypes.
(Good thing the items are decent though - even if most of the furniture is just resold from older cinch de mayos)
