Over the duration of this week, I've participated in a fair number of events, ranging from chance, to digging, to hidden paths. It's worth noting that I didn't win any of them. I feel as though events are orientated around luck, positioning, and knowledge. One must possess all three, if they want to win. This is coming from a guy who hasn't won an event in 7 months.
Event teams have even been introduced, making competing even more challenging than ever. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but with these event teams sweeping the competitive scene, I'm beginning to wonder if newer/less experienced players really have a chance at winning at all. There should be some sort of rating system, so that the more experienced players can compete amongst themselves, while the less experienced/less lucky can also be given a chance to win. I like the competitiveness that events bring to the table. Don't get me wrong, it's really a good thing.
