xD Hm lets see it this way. For a login server for the size of iclassic (1500-1700 avg i belive) login and login2 would crash (if they were going to use a login system like on P.C). if they use a SQL/Database type system, it requires man hours and labor to make sure the right data gets saved in the database for people to login. and then there are the player problems.
What if someone forgot their password?
Stefan would have to script a "Forgot your password" section of the login for iphone users, or someone would have to PM a high staff member in hopes to get it (having 500 people PM me (through their brothers or sisters, or what ever account) requesting for a password change/asking what their password is isn't what i call a picknick (and all the Iphone staff probily agree that they don't need that kind of work load on their backs))

another issue if someone gets ahold of another person's password and uses it for their purposes.

That would also be a problem with this kind of system, if someone hacks and gets banned on that account. they could just create another one, and contuning on doing their hacking. Anything short of a IP ban won't help ya get rid of them.
Case in Point: The UDID login system is fine, and the saying is "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"..
