The whole ping thing isn't really accurate.. depends where you live really, even if you have the lowest ping, you can still be laggy..

Indeed. No-one sets priority (QoS) on ICMP so any other traffic will destroy it. Even though Graal doesn't use ICMP for it's pings (scripted anyway. Don't know about hardcoded ping) but if you're torrenting or on a voice/video call, that traffic will generally end up delaying both the send and receive of the ping/ping reply so it won't give accurate distance. The latency is still true in a sense though in that is taking that long for packets to be received and returned.
