ehow: Anime's popularity could be credited to its perceived originality. However, anime's origins are partially influenced by early western entertainment as well as other mediums. Anime certainly stands out from traditional western animation because of the variety of available sub-genres.

Mine: I just like the story, animation, and feel of watching a Japanese cartoon. Its way better than any kids show you have here in the western part of the world.
