Yes. For quite a while.
Until about 2004, we had something called a "trading basket", where you cycled through your items(above your head) and could drop items that way. This was until Era got their own GUIs and inventory, and was using the default classic inventory/GUI.
Then they came out with their own inventory, and with it you could hold Q, click an item, release Q, drag the item to either side of your player, release to drop, arrow up/down to set the number.
Then came the malls-- the first real secure way to trade without staff intervention. Then came the itemtrade system.
We could always drop and trade items. It stimulates the economy. I'm totally supportive of it solely because it's been a successful system on PC Era.

Will there ever be a time in IEra that you can drop guns/ecs?
