Okay, to clear up confusion, I'll organize by items covered in this thread:
Thanks again for your input.
Lightsaber- Will most likely not have its reflect taken away. I was only giving examples on ways I could think of separating the Lightsaber from the Umbrella. Sorry if I scared you.
- Will be better than the Umbrella. Winning 100 events is much more of a challenge than just buying an Umbrella.
- Will be checked out tomorrow. It may not necessarily be fixed tomorrow, because some of my adjustments may have to go through Snk, but I will definitely have some basis of improvement laid out tomorrow.
Steam Punk Pistol- Was nerfed because it was too powerful for its price.
- Is now comparative to the AP7, DEagle, and MK23. They're in the same class and price range.
PBP Shotgun- I'm not convinced that it needs to be buffed. I've seen the damage it does in basing as it is now. It'd be insane to improve on it.
- It does 4 damage per bullet, but it's a shotgun-- your goal isn't to land one bullet on your opponents, it's to land multiple.
- It fires 4 bullets, a potential 16 damage up close. Upgrading it to 8 damage would pose it to do 32 damage.
- Damage is stacked by how many bullets land a hit. It's a close range weapon/door buster.
- I'll look at the other shotguns and make sure it's outclassing them.
Scimitar- I wasn't aware there was a problem with this. I'll look into it within the next couple days, along with the other EC melees.
- I'll level them out. This includes Hunter Knife.
Artillery Cannon- Wasn't covered in this thread, but I'll let you know it's on my list to give some unique value to separate it from the other cannons.
Umbrella- Will work on the Lightsaber first, then the Umbrella. It's easier to start with the upper tier and figure out what to tweak on the lower tiers.
Shipka
I'm thinking of doing one of two things with this.
- 1) Lowering the price and reimbursing those who have already bought it with the difference.
The nature of this gun(the fact that it shoots two bullets) makes it to where it can only go so fast before it's overpowered-- and it's about at the max right now.
- 2) I could do to improve it would be to make it to where both bullets stack damage like a shotgun, and do it about 6 damage(a potential 12dmg in one shot).
- Like everything else, I'll put it to the test and see how it fairs.
REFUNDING
I'm trying to work with the prices that are already set, and base the weapons around that.-- I don't want to do refunds. This will create uproar and everybody will want a refund for every gun they're not satisfied with.
Admittedly, it's making my job rather difficult because items were previously released without taking the other items of its class into consideration. They wanted to stimulate the game and satisfy the peoples' request for updates. Which is absolutely admirable, but I believe they should have been more conscious of the repercussions. These repercussions include, but are not limited to future nerfing of these very items that were praised in updates because the consideration is taken after the fact.
That's why I'm making these weapon changes very carefully and gradually. I'm sparring with these weapons, I'm basing with these weapons, I'm testing them before, during, and after my adjustments-- Just as I always have in my previous Guns Admin positions. I'm testing them on other accounts through Facebook App, and the iPad.
The only exception I would make on refunds if if I truly believe that a gun cannot be improved any further than it is, and it was
way overpriced. Perfect example is the Shipka(see above).
