Nightmares

"The day turns to night. Paridise churns to fright. Darkness consumes the light. While monsters feel delight.
Halloween nears the edge of our days! No longer will you ever feel the sun's rays..."

Oh yes! Nightmares have arrived along with the nearing of October 31st. Knowing that there's probably a dream thread floating around buried underneath other dead threads, I thought that with the coming of Autumn it's time that we share our sleepless nights and spooky slumbers. So dim your lights and pull the covers high! Pray that it isn't you, whose turn to die...

I'll start off with my nightmare I had the other day. Since I've already discussed the dream on another forum, I'll just copy and paste it from there since I'm lazy to rewrite the ENTIRE dream again. Plus it's more convenient and easier that way. All you need to know about Edo Edi Essum is he is The Devourer. The Consumer. The Eternal Void. He only exists to inexist. A paradoxal creature who feels none other than hunger. And he will stop at nothing, until he has consumed but all. To be held in thrall.

Woah! Just had a major Holder dream. Ever play hide and go seek with Edo Edi Essum?...not very fun. It is for him, not so much for you.

I guess I was a Seeker in the dream. Living in some **** neighborhood. No Object at all. I invited some friends over. Things were going well for a while, I had taken up free running and Parkour. An amateur about to break his legs while falling at best. Yet it did prove to be a useful skill, for it did save my life.

It came in through the roof. Like a fog. Like a nightmare. Seeping through the cracks and every nook and cranny of my belongings. Inhaling the smells and scents they had. Using them as a way to hunt me like a rabbid dog chasing a small rabbit. I had sensed this negative energy overwhelming the pours of my house. Uneasy, I had asked my peers if they had felt it. When they denied it I felt it grow weaker. As if masking itself from my senses.

Over the past twenty minutes or so I thought nothing of it. Then it returned. Stronger, fouler than ever. A trail of oil had led me towards the staircase. Upon following it I was greeted by a cloaked figure. Colors grew less vibrant and more grey scale as the life was drained from me. He was uncreation, I felt death- no, what was stronger than death, tried to place it's archaic jaws inside my head. I tugged from his grip, burning the flesh upon my arms. Then I ran. Sprinting as fast as I could to escape this unholy lunacy. Bloodcurdling screams of my friends and loved ones turned into praises of worship and thralldom.

Running as fast as I could, jumping as high and as far as I could, I had escaped to the edge of the city. With my legs nearly broken several times from the stiffness in my jumps. I collapsed and fainted. As I awoke I was in a hotel. Gray figures without eyes walked as drones. Mindlessly obeying orders in a forgotten language. They turned to me to speak. I had spoken back. The same response from them was always a look of sorrow and disappointment. Depressed that they were unable to understand me. I had felt sympathy for the eyeless men. Then I saw Him. He rode a black hearse that opposed all that was life. As if Hell and his nation of the damned rode behind him. The Devourer rode past his crowd of thralls. Scampering for the tiniest grain of life. Within the crowd, I was safe. His senses did not outstretch far enough beyond the chariot of death. As he gained closer time grew slower. For a split second our eyes met. Behind mine was a certain fear and madness. Behind his laid nothing but an undefined hunger yearning to be sated. And then it was over. He had ridden past me and went on to consume all.

I thought myself as safe for the time being. I walked on then felt a tugging force at my shoulder. A blow to the neck with a truncheon was enough to knock me out. Within that state of unconscious I held a dream. The recipient of the hotel came to me in my sleep. He spoke of His reign taking hold. How He will consume all that is humanity. No Object, Holder, Legion or Balance could stop His acts. But there was a hope, there was a way to suppress his hunger. Only for a few seconds. Less than three drops of vile will only anger him. He will crave and hunger savage and wild. More than three drops of vile he will repulse and gluttony. He will vomit Death like a lukewarm only to have consumed it again. Three drops of vile will sate him. His senses will have vanished, hunger will be no more, but for only a few precious seconds.

Visions came of horrendous acts he had committed. His thralls beaten and raped by nightmares undefined. I had awoke yet again as one of Them. Screaming at my sickening body. Chained and linked to the grayness and eyelessness what what remained of humanity. Ether a praise or a scream emitted our lips. Strangely enough, I was the only screaming. I rewoke again. In the bathroom of the hotel apartment. Outside bore no life. The hotel was a ghost of silence. Free from the chants of servants and slaves. He had consumed his entire kingdom. All but me.

Freeing them is what I'll do, yes, yes. For I know how to suppress his anger. His wrath and his hunger. Perhaps I can free them all? The world will be safe in the hands of God once more. Slowly, I opened the door. No sudden sound or movement. It was no avail, for He was already waiting. I might have cried then. His footsteps grew louder as he approached the room. I hid under the bed, like a mere infantile child in the face of darkness. As he grew nearer, tears stopped to fall. My heart began to feel relieved with joy and happiness. Perhaps I should just...join Him? Yes, that would be much better fate. An easier one too. I'll be with all my friends and family. We'll be together as one. And live happily ever after within Him. I stood up from under the bed, then opened the door to greet Him.
