And get the un-tethered version. Tethered means that if your i device dies all your jaibreak stuff goes with it.

Are you sure?
Pretty sure tethered means you hook up your device to your computer and jailbreak it from an application you downloaded. That's how I did it.
When Jailbreakme.com was there, that's un-tethered. (just press the slider and it jailbreaks from the internet.) (How cool is that?!)
