Meh, when I hear "free to play" I just think of how the iOS market and Android marketplace ended up. Not many games are actually free to play, but more "we'll trick you into thinking it's free to play but waste your time/harass you."
Regardless I like what the intend with it, but people will **** it up and more importantly I doubt anything will come of it anyways.

Agreed, I hate how free to play ended up on the app store. In app purchases basically ruined Gameloft's games.
They used to make quality games with a one time purchase. Now they make games with an initial fee of like $7, then charge for every small thing basically forcing you to buy it. If they do make a free game, it basically requires you spend money to play. Look at Dungeon hunter 3.
Look at Order and Chaos Online. $7 initial fee, $1 a month, and still incredibly pay to win as you can buy epic weapons with real money.
