copyright doesnt matter in graal, if so graal would be wiped off the intenet by lucasarts and several weapons making companies. argument invalid.
my personal opinion on this idea: yes. im all for a poekmon-type server, it sounds really fun and pking wouldnt be as mainstream to other games, not many games have combat mechanics like pokemon. the only two i could name are pokemon( duh) and final fantasy.

Golden Sun (1 to 3). Secret of Mana. (1 and 2 - are there more? Can't remember. There are more, that I'm too lazy to add. Turn-based combat is actually pretty common.
But it'd still be awesome on Graal <3
