In other words, it is more tiring to actively defend a tower that is a bit vulnerable (MOD), rather than just move and block (Swamp).

I'd say that MoD has always been the hardest to defend because of the constant attacking, Castle being next in both frequency of attacks and difficulty to defend. It's harder to hold Sardon's under attack for hours than MoD with just a few PKers.
