The staff handbook is something Azrael wrote a while back (some of us have edited it after script updates). It's like an employee manual introducing the new GP to how we go about banning. It really isn't anything interesting for a player to see... I don't understand why people wanna see it so badly except that hardcore Graal players feel the need to know EVERYTHING ABOUT WHAT GOES ON BEHIND THE SCENES OMG! Relax guys. Much of the manual includes commands, how RC works, and how we go about banning others. Personally before I hire anyone, I have them study it for a week so when they are staff they will be ready.
Our manual also makes it very clear that that depending on the nature of the crime, how many times a player has done it, and their attitude towards it, that we can use our judgement to consider a ban time.
In real life, troublemakers and criminals tend to get harsher punishments in real life vs good people who just screw up once in a while.
It's really not that complicated people. We read a report... warp to them, look at the recent history of what they may have said in public or to the person, hang out to see if they are still doing while we are there to validate the report... Half of the time the report is fake or just spam our of spite. It's pretty easy to tell a dumb report "THIS PERSON CURSED AT ME!!@#$! BAN THEM" vs "This person has been screaming white power non stop in Graal City. It's pretty annoying."
What comes next... we click the culprit, check their ban history (for sexual harassment we add it to another list so we can write a full report for ourselves in case we would ever need to get the actual police involved, you never know). After that, we use our judgement. There are guidelines in the manual, but those are reserved for newer players. I always tell new GPs don't ban players with few hours or no ban history for longer than a day. It may make them less interested in playing the game vs a player who has been here forever, constantly causes trouble, and will come back no matter what, because they are addicted to the attention, like our good friend Higbey.
@spades of fear... Problem? Feel free to Skype me and we'll talk. Thanks.
I think Twinny and I explained it pretty well here... no need to continue bickering. Thanks for your concerns!
