Player Conduct

I have played Graal for all of 2 weeks and got word that this site existed, so I figure this is the place to post this. Every punk I've beaten in spars has used variations of only a few excuses and complaints for losing, and I want to know why about 85% of the players always has an excuse for losing. Well without further delay, here are some of the most common excuses

Quote:

Lame Excuses for Losing

1. Lag - "Lag much?" "Lagger" "Dude u delay" All of this even if they are noticed by everyone doing the whole teleporting thing and have great lag themselves and when I say showlag it says very low.

2. Accounts - "What is ur other account?" and when I tell them the account I'm on is the only one I have, they start telling me I'm a liar and there is no way I am that good and I'm "hiding" behind a 2nd account

3. Technique - Apparently there is always a flaw in my technique that somehow allows me to win spars, be it "wall sparring" or "spamming", flaws which appear to have worked because I win the spar, and if these people were really that good, wouldn't they be able to win anyway?

4. AFK or Talking - I've seen people fuss and moan because I hit them while they are talking in a spar for some reason, seeing as it is a spar, or they don't do anything and I am just supposed to stop and hold the line up because they are AFK. I saw some assclown earlier today go AFK in the middle of a spar without saying nothing when I'm up by 3 hits, and then pitched a fit because I killed him when he was AFK

5. PC - Apparently I am only good at sparring because I am on a PC and I can't afford an iPod supposedly. I mean isn't PC allowed? How do I know they're not playing on PC? I've seen people fussing about PC themselves, and then they later are exposed or admit to being PC players. Just another excuse.

Also, why is everyone obsessed with calling each other "noobs"? They start calling me a noob (sometimes even those who accuse me of having multiple accounts), and when I say something along the lines of "yeah i am a noob" they continue calling me a noob like its the biggest insult?

The conduct of the players on this game hasn't really made a good impression on me since I started playing. How do I find people with some sense?

Because they're immature

Talon 06-19-2012 07:28 AM

This game was designed for, and played by 9-12 year old butthurt children that lose their temper after a (1) gets added to their profile. If you thought iClassic was this immature, don't play iEra.

>inb4 'I play both servers and do possess high maturity levels and can hold control over my own temper'.

And if you think I'm singling all 9-12/iEra players, I'm not. I'm generalizing the main population of that demographic.

Pazx 06-19-2012 07:44 AM

The community on iClassic sucks. You have to deal with it.

DRAN 06-19-2012 08:57 AM

There barely is a community. If you can't give them free hats, or if you dont waste your time pretending to be an infant, most everyone will be an ass to you.

I'm going to have to disagree with this one. Of most of my years on Graal PC, the conduct has been the same with the name-calling, mainly of Noob. The real name-calling is more-so from PC. That is where they get into the N word, F word, and other common curses one might see while another is pissed.

Or not even pissed, just because.. I had a GP pissed off at me after I told him two players were talking about a GP and calling him the N word, he started yelling at me like I did it. >.>

This was on UnholyNation however.

I will say that I do like iPod Graal's community more than PC Graal's community.

Other than that, I'm not sure how you are able to connect to the iPod servers with a PC account.. I was pretty sure that wasn't possible. :[

Playing iservers on pc is through facebook.

Pazx 06-19-2012 10:38 AM

Changed my mind. The community on [all online games ever made in the history of ever] sucks.

Lag is what absolutely ruined spar. When the game was first released there was hardly any to worry about. Now it's much much worse. The accounts you can blame the people who are too afraid to ruin their precious record and have to go on other accounts to practice first. Now they caused even more hate on newbies saying if they are good they must be on a second account. Wall sparring and spamming are both annoying techniques, but with experience you should know how to get past them. For talking that is extremely annoying when people do that in spar. Especially when they're losing and than they start saying something like "This is bull ****!" Don't get me started on PC. Let's just say I don't like it. Noob is an overused word on Graal and can often be funny rather than an insult.

Oh... that.. I thought that wasn't the same as the client..
(Wouldn't he have had to pay, or have played/farmed enough to get up to PC though?)

There are some exceptions out there. A solid nine out of ten (estimation) game communities are just horrible. Call of Duty is one of the worse I have ever had the displeasure of playing. Graal Era comes at a very close second, only because no one has pissed me off to the extent of going out of my way to send a quick little rage message. Maybe once. Bungie, on the other hand, had a legendary fanbase and community for Halo on the BNet before it became inactive. The in-game community wasn't too good.

Other communities like followers of TV shows (Narutards, Bronies, Animaniacs, etc) tend to be much more mature and enjoyable to be a part of. I love the brony community. It's refreshing to log onto the /mlp/ boards after some raging on iEra.

Bronies aren't all love and tolerate, I often find them rather rude to people who aren't part of their fandom (Hhaha get off tumblr pazx). Narutards are known for bashing on One Piece/Bleach/Inu/every anime ever despite clearly being the poorer show. Obviously there is always going to be a percentage of nice, mature people, and a percentage of immature annoying ****s no matter what community we're talking about, and Graal is no exception.

@OP, if someone complains, just kick their ass harder the second time. Sorry, but you're playing a game with people who are 10 years old and people who are as mature as 10 year olds.

David K? 06-20-2012 04:31 AM

^Where as I've met some young kids who were only a very few years older than 10, who could also type correctly and have an intelligent conversation. (Not to mention the one being a fairly good programmer, even outside of Graal)

I'll have to agree the young kid part. Event those older than 18 though..
Once again, not only on Graal.
