So i wanted to make a jester hat type deal and this is what I came up with, I made it into multiple colors so people would have a variety, do you guys like them?

Also no one has the right to use these hats or give them to a server as their own, if you want to use one just forum message me why and I will say yes or no. I do not like thieves. Thank you

Great work!

I like them! Adds a bit more of variety to the collection of Jester hats already made.

However, i do have a problem with one thing regarding the jester hat. The hat base's (the black) dithering/shading is dirty. You do have a light source and ill give you credit for that but the way its dithered is not clean. Also, you used too much of the darker color on the front view and on the back view, you left a few light spots on

Optional critique but i still like them. Good job! :3

Don't dither it.

RileyFiery 05-29-2012 05:14 AM

I agree with Bam on this one. Dithering is really not necessary since you have such a huge color limit.
Terrible edit because of, well, it's just an example of not dithering.

when i read this i got the information on how I shaded it wrongly, can we possibly move on and find something else that is wrong with it?

RileyFiery 05-29-2012 05:26 AM

If you did notice it, then fix it with our suggestions. Your other problem I didn't mention is color choices.
You need to have contrasting colors. You should move away from gray scale and also use other colors for highlights rather than the same hue.
That can sometimes help with the colors looking the same because you didn't shift the brightness enough.

thats the only thing that is wrong with it, otherwise it would be a perfect hat.

I myself do not like the face part though. Either get rid of it completely or design a new mask that covers the entire face, or maybe the top half and leave the mouth uncovered. The way you made the mask fits the defualt head perfectly but would look awkward on many other heads.

Yes I see how this could raise a problem haha, I figured the masks that have already been made fit the default head and people still wear them regardless of their head, plus many heads have the same eye alignment as the default, but I do agree it could bring problems. Thank you

RileyFiery 05-29-2012 05:38 AM

Apparently you're a liar since after that comment you didn't fix the dithering and posted an edit. One would assume that would be where you could have removed the dithering and avoided the dithering problem.

Apparently not if you shrug off a suggestion. What's your excuse for not putting our suggestions into the hat other than being stubborn?
