XBox360 + Memory

Whay happens if you get the 4GB version? Can you attach a back up drive or something?

Tyler 05-13-2012 05:44 PM

My Xbox system let's me take mine off and put a new one in real easily. Does the 4GB one not come off?

Rexx 05-13-2012 06:32 PM

you can use an external hard drive via USB

Talon 05-13-2012 07:04 PM

4GB just refers to the hard drive that it comes with. It's an internal hard drive; you can replace it whenever needed, or use external hard drives or USB flash drives like Rexx said.

Its the same. With no hard drive. I bought one for my moms house so i can , in basics. Just take it out and drive over and put it and continue playing. And the 4gb version isnt all shiny.

It has the hole inside of it to slide the standard 250gb into

Well I'm thinking of buying an XBox. There's a few games I want but not really enough to justify the investment of a new console... Does anybody have any suggestions?

For Games?

Talon 05-14-2012 03:13 AM

Here's some Xbox LIVE features to start you off... Halo franchise, Gears of War, free Netflix, Halo franchise, Crysis franchise, full downloadable games from the Xbox Marketplace, customizable avatars, YouTube access, Hulu access, Zune Music Pass, HBO channel, Last.fm, and a lot more - not to mention the wide landscape of game choices. Yeah, it kinda blows PSN out of the water.

You can find more Xbox LIVE features here: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/
I think it's one hell of an investment.

Do you have any other current gen consoles? If you already own a PS3 then you may not consider it worth it since they share many titles.

Are there any games that already interest you on the 360? What about what type of games you like playing?

Do you have friends that have 360's that you're interested in playing with online? Are you willing to pay for Live to do so? I find most of my enjoyment with the 360 comes from playing with friends/family online.

Heh, you sound like you're sponsored or something. Maybe this sort of thing would have worked a few years ago but almost all of those third party features(netflix, hulu and so on) are available on PSN now. Hell, even Wii has them. The fact that you need Xbox Live for them when Wii and PS3 provides them for free now is kind of a slap in the face for Xbox owners.

There are a lot of things I like about Xbox Live, but them requiring a Live subscription to access third party applications sucks hard, and even more so now that they're all on the Wii/PS3 now. They need to update their stance on that and make them free.

Would be nice to see some unbiased opinions though, hate this fanboy ****.

Well I have a Wii. I love games like Mario and Zelda. Never owned a non-Nintendo console. Always loved Nintendo games. The main Reason I'm wanting to get it is because of the banjo kazooie remakes and the new game, so I'm trying to find something else to justify it.

And it's $5.00 a month, so I'll pay for it.

I've heard from some Banjo Kazooie fans the new one sucks balls. I can't say I'd find a justified reason in buying an entirely new console for some upgraded ports :P

Also, no, don't get into that bull**** with Live. Don't buy it in stores, don't buy anything less than a year. Get the 12mo card online, but wait for sales to pop up. Newegg/Amazon often sells the 12mo at ~$35.

Also, sometimes they sell 1mo/$1. Great deal, but it comes at a price. See, Microsoft are SNEAKY AS **** when it comes to their subscription. If you buy Xbox Live through them, they have in very fine print that you're actually signing up for an autorenewel subscription. Meaning after your Live runs out it will automatically resubscribe and charge whatever payment plan they have saved to your account. Once you put in a payment option(like a credit card) it stays on your account with no easy way to remove it. You have to call Xbox Live support and go through the bull**** of having a representative remove it manually. They'll also tell you with no payment option on record that your remaining subscription will be terminated.

It once had it where you couldn't even turn off autorenewel easily. You had to call them up and deal with the bull**** just so they wouldn't auto-charge you at the end of your term, but thankfully they have finally readded that to the website.

Just be wary when you put in your payment info with Xbox Live.

You can private chat with Silver but you can't party chat. Last I checked you couldn't use Netflix and such without Gold, but if they've changed that recently then that's good.

Talon 05-14-2012 05:44 AM

You don't need Gold to access the live features like Netflix or YouTube as far as I'm concerned. And in my previous post, I was just listing off the things I personally liked. I didn't really inject my opinion in that post (aside from the PS3 comment), I was just outlining what I liked about the console.

Also, Xbox Live isn't that expensive considering its $60 a year. Won't make that big of a dent in the old wallet. Also, what Dusty said, they do offer 1M/$1 promotions time and time again. Just remember to disable auto-renewal on the Xbox site.

I apologize for my occasional Microsoft fanboyism though. Gets the best of me sometimes.
