ok, this isn't too terribly detailed, but what's the fun in art if someone is doing it for you? I really just have a couple tips to give.. Make it look wavyish, hehe, and observation, feel free to go on google images and just stare at a pic of one.. |
well yes ik what a tutu looks like i own like 4 but idk it doesnt turn out exactly the way i want
|
i think it looks fine... but i don't dance soooooooo...
Anyways when your doing graal art, your likely not to see all the detail good job though |

Ok, yea.. i wanna see your work so far, because with mine.. i really didn't capture the ruffles on a tutu xD

I may be wrong, and probably am, but aren't tutus layered, each layer a different shade? It'd be hard to create, but I think that would help you get that look you're going for.

I'm no graphics artist, but your lighter shades of pink stood out too much for me and it looked pillow shaded because of it. I've tried to "fix" that, but I might have made it worse.

On the tutus you guys made I'd bring the ends up, and in a little more, so it looks like it goes more "around" the waist, instead of just laying over it. I really don't see a quality difference between the two, they both look good, shade either way.

@emera
Good job, its progress |
Yea, I did pillow shade, I didn't want it to be too detailed.. It took all of 5 mintues. ^^

Because of the material that tutu's tend to be made out of, I suggest using the dithering technique. This example doesn't look good because its only two layers and its shaped pretty flat, but it shows what I mean. Don't be afraid to apply lots of different shades to give the tutu more volume and texture.

You guys are right in the pillow shading error. it is incorrect style of shading when your trying to show sudden depth changes. However, the second error that nobody pointed out is from the Lineart. Without the proper outline, no matter the shading you wont be able to define the object as well. So here is my little example i made in 5 minutes.
