Graal & Toonslab Websites: Submissions & Ideas
 

If you were given the opportunity to design a new website for Graal or Toonslab, what would it look like?

Toonslab is interested in your ideas for a Graal website and their website, so in this thread feel free to post your ideas/prototypes/sketches of what an ideal Graal or Toonslab website would look like. That's not all - if a prototype is selected by Toonslab, the creator of it will be rewarded with a nice gift, including Amazon Gift Cards and the opportunity to work with Toonslab to create the final product.

Feel free to discuss ideas or post examples in this thread. You should use Wordpress to build your site, using Themify is a bonus.

I've attached some low-res versions of visual assets that you can use to create your prototype.

I've received a few questions outside of this thread that I'll add here in case anyone else was wondering. If I'm asked any more, I'll also add them to this post.

Q: Do you have to use Wordpress even if you have web design experience?
A: Yes. However, Wordpress supports custom css/html/etc, so if you have that experience it will be useful.

Q: If your prototype is accepted and you choose to work with Toonslab to produce it, will you be paid?
A: Yes, you will be compensated for the time you spend working to fully produce the website with Toonslab.

Heres my website idea/sketch I made pretty quickly, I'm not even sure if this is possible to make as a website :P

Attached is a small layout for a new Website working with wordpress.

Builder is not that relevant in the end themify's builder does the same as visual composer or elementor.

Used Slider Plugin is "Revolution Slider" (The slider everyone on wordpress sites uses. Many themes include this already)

This design focus on Graal Worlds because in my opinion Graal Worlds should be the main focus for the future. It also makes no sense to show images of different servers exactly next to each other. The different art and gameplay styles make the website look like a mixture of not matching images. Like the example picture in the post. It hurts the eye. So we keep it simple and clean with introducing Graal Worlds first and a few servers, one at a time, in the slider below.

Home Page is split into 3 parts.

1. General information/Introduction of the Game 'base'.
2. Showcase of a few example servers iclassic, era and whatever. (Maybe some playermade content too). Red Arrows show how the images "fly" in to the visible part of the slider if user clicks on a arrow (white). (Creating a 3d feeling).
3. Download Section and basic footer

Blue color is just a placeholder it should be brighter.
I have many other layouts in mind, if you are interested message me. I am working with wordpress for 5 years now and have alot knowledge about optimizing pages, seo, js, creating basic wordpress plugins ... .

I was curious about that too and asked - the example is from before Ol' West's release.

The sad thing is, is that ol west has a higher player count than zone soo... why even market 3 of your 4 games you have on mobile? Why not just put more the focus on playerworlds because delteria will probably your biggest game in the future if executed correctly and have ALL the other graals in the background? i would just prepare for the future. Delteria by far will be the graal with the most content ever seen in any graalonline game, so you could focus that.

Putting all your eggs in one basket isn't a smart thing to do. Delteria does need to be advertised a lot though on the website if it is executed correctly. Maybe a coming soon thing for delteria on the website would be smart.

I actually really like the example idea for a new site, there'd probably be a few things I'd offer advice to change about it - but it still feels pretty modern and fresh.

Here is my very rough prototype. I used a site called Figma which is good for story boarding and mockups.

I definitely am no website professional, but I think this is a neat idea to provide these prototypes and samples to one for oversight of a big overhaul like this.

The current site is in need of an overhaul, but I actually really don't think it's that bad just a little out-dated...

I think it'd be neat to utilize a sticky navigation bar (whether it be for app or social media short links). I think having the characters displayed front and center is also a good idea.

Anyways ya, here is my low res not so well finished and polished prototype but I just started the contest and the deadline is like soon, so yeah.
