People Never Change....

I've been raring to get a GP position ever since admins have said that they are hiring but for some reason admins think people 'Dont change'. Now ive been banned what 6 times or something but I still get refused for this reason. Do you think its right that admins judge people on there past?

Thats not fair, cause people do change but i guess its all just based on trusting people. On graal u dont really know who u could trust :o

A very good question...
I think they have a blacklist staff members will see the player names from them black...
Or idk xD

Dont call me sad now but I have studied CS2 Coding Language, Learned all of the default heads in graal and increased my knowledge on all of the shops in game and they just say 'Nope to many bans'....

Just keep trying and maybe theyll change their mind?

its not your "right" to be given a position. honestly they have enough gps, i think they need more lats and scripters, as far as judging on the past, its not really that..."fair" when it comes to that, i still find it annoying that you can be permabanned for multiple bans when you only had two month long bans before, but i guess thats all technicality since a staff could just ban you and leave no reason and nothing would be done, ive seen it before.

as for changing, i know ill never truly change, and ive given up even trying to bull people into thinking i will. i guess maybe you and others may find it easier to change, but i find that it takes a long time until people really believe youve changed,

its really hard to tell if people just say that so youll be good and do what they want for ever and they never have any real intention of actually doing what they said they would if you were good.

listen you got to think about it like this, what use would it be to have someone who knows about shops and the default heads, none, so dont bother doing stuff like that, it wont make them want to hire you at all, but is you learn more scripting and get better at it (ask twinny, i heard he has a page that can make learning it easier) then maybe, just maybe, they will hire you as a scripter. but youll have to be good, and maybe you should try to work on a server first to get some experience

Admins have trial GP's but yet they still arent giving out admin trials to people who are desperate to prove there potential. Ive been playing for a year and a half now and I think I have got what it takes its just i dont get an opportunity to prove it. Oh well I'll keep trying :3

Higbey 09-05-2011 07:44 PM

you have to find your opportunity, dont expect it just to come allong, i suggest going on pc graal and learning about scripting and looking for a scripting position on a server there.

Hiring is something the Graal community really should have kept more discrete.. you could find so many people with "Should I be Admin" in their name or something similar if you looked hard enough. The problem with hiring: People are hired based on popularity. Often the GPs you will find today aren't people who actually helped out the community in the past. The "popular" people of Graal know that it's easy to be hired if they know the right people. This is why many people make a big deal about being hired.

They say being hired is "volunteer work". That is just said because people don't get paid. What admins need to say is that it is a "Privilege" instead. Too many people get their hopes up too high when it comes to hiring.. Hiring should be discrete, where they contact you based on your good works in Graal discretely. They shouldn't hire people based off of them asking or sending in applications. This is basically why people get mad for not being hired. Because many people do get hired just because they want to.

But to answer your post, if I was someone who was hiring moderators to keep my server under control, yes I would only hire the people who have proven that they will obey all rules, and could possibly be trusted. Like someone previously said, you cant trust people on Graal. You never know what they could do. Would you trust the person with multiple ban history? Or would you trust the person who has never been banned and who follows all rules and reports players who break the rules? It's pretty simple. I have nothing against you being a moderator, I just don't see how they could benefit more from having you than someone who has never broken a rule.

Im thinking that when zodiac iphone comes out that the GP's on the Zodiac server might be the GP's there as well till they feel the need to hire more GP's

You just have to look at it from an administrative point-of-view. They probably get lots of applications, with plenty of candidates that qualify for the position. Who would you rather pick? Someone with a clean sheet as far as problems go, or someone who has a long list of problems but promises that they've "changed." Now I'm not saying that you can't change... it's perfectly likely. I'm just saying that it's a much safer choice to go with the many other applicants who you know haven't done anything wrong instead of taking a risk of someones "promise" that can easily be broken when they feel like it... except now have the power to do a lot more damage.
