In b4 shmegg closes thread saying graalians not the place to discuss bans and/or email toonslab.

HamStarr 08-24-2017 05:07 PM

why tf was elk banned?
is there proof?

Elk 08-24-2017 05:08 PM

I am charging money for making heads, or graphics in general.
Others are charging money for making heads.

I have never forced or blackmailed anyone to order a head.

Whenever someone brings up that there are people doing it for free or less, I refer to them aswell.

There are people who are mad at me for charging money,
who simply cannot get over the fact that some people
just dont have the time anymore to work for free.

(Sorry that I invested thousands of hours of work for free for Graal the past 16 years, and I actually never really complained, because it was out of my own free will in the end.)

I accept that people work for this game on a voluntary basis and I respect their decision.

The argument that this is a "kids game" is invalid.

I have had many satisfied customers so far and I have always delivered.

This is one way for me to contribute towards the game.
Three parties benefit of this business:

Me (Making someone happy because of a agreed-to trade of goods outside of Graal (So it isn't USDing aswell))
The Client (who decided to make use of an optional player-driven service)
And Graal (for ultimately having someone upload a professionally made graphic)

Please explain, if not, unban and apologize.

I am well aware that this is not the place to post this, and I will gladly have it deleted once it reached the respective attention who whoever is responsible for this

On top of it all, I have not even recieved a warning.

Could be a baseless report but they used screen caps as an example. I don't know. I know that they generally frown upon people for making money via graal graphics.

Good luck, dude.

10,000% Because you had it in your status "Will make a head for 30$ / 1 hr of time" just because you genuinely aren't scamming, doesn't mean others will do the same. It sucks, but that's Graal now.

Elk 08-24-2017 05:43 PM

The following steps taken will highly impact my future actions and motivations.

Yes, I had it in my status so people know, because whenever I am logged in, people ask if I am a head maker.
And to bypass the trouble of always replying the same thing to whoever is interested, I had put it in my status.

Why not make a website and place your description there of your offers?

Elk 08-24-2017 05:55 PM

Does that really justify this kind of ban in the end without even approaching me first?

If the ban is valid, I'll take my hat and leave entirely, no drama.

Colin 08-24-2017 06:06 PM

Ban might be excessive but common practice with game developers and publishers that they do not allow any sort of real-world trading or any form of trade involving real currency to happen inside their game.

Should just give out warnings/bans with that as the reason, instead of claiming intentional scamming all the time.

McCullough 08-24-2017 06:16 PM

That is only two weeks, in that time I'd still be contacting anyone and making heads for them.

I think you should have known better, because you know what scamming looks like, and it looks exactly like what you put in your status. I wouldn't pay $30 for a head in this game, that's for sure. Admins don't have a way of knowing, so next time you should just keep it a secret and keep your status clear to avoid any misunderstandings with the clowns we call admins.

Even if you really are legitimate, no admin wants to put in the time to investigate anything further. I think you're lucky to be stuck with only two weeks givin that you were banned for scamming.

Here's an idea:

Leave your status with just "Head maker" and people will come to you. Then discuss your terms through PM or other messaging apps. Avoid arguing with them, because if you want money it should be their decision to give it only. Besides, if you make them mad they'll report ye' for the same thing.

The argument that this is a kid's game is limited, but some kids just don't know better, so just be careful.

TGG 08-24-2017 06:21 PM

Might be due to the price being visible? Others do this too and are allowed to do so, but they all offer methods to be contacted outside of Graal to discuss pricing etc.

Elk 08-24-2017 06:27 PM

I understand all that.

But before even thinking of banning someone, I would warn them, and then jail them, and then ban them. That'd be the normal order.

Zetectic 08-24-2017 06:45 PM

yeah sry elk, i think admins are right on this one.
although we know you are legit, they are not gonna loosen up anything involving real world trading, except purchasing gralats.

i think website with payment feature might be a way to go.
and 355hrs doesn't seem bad, cause intentional scamming usually bans you 2.4k+ hrs.

Elk 08-24-2017 06:47 PM

So it turns out that Paddie appearently falsely accused and reported me of being a scammer.

She has been spamming me with PMs just because I wont make her a head.
