~$1000 USD Gaming PC help

In all honesty I didn't want to have to make a thread asking for help, but I don't know what parts I need for my desired rig. It'd me much appreciated for any help I can get.

The games I'd probably be playing most aren't too high demanding. Things like WoW, and ESO. Most demanding would probably be Overwatch, but I'd probably want the possibility of playing games like Dark Souls 3 and The Witcher 3 once I get the rig tbh.. I don't know what I need to run these games on ultra, and I really don't want to buy something too underpowered. Resolution isn't too important but if the rig can handle something better than my old laptop (1366x768) I wouldn't mind. Also I don't think overclocking is something I'd want to do.

I'd rather try to keep it below $1000 so as to not have to explain why I dropped 1k on "that damn technology", however if it's needed then I can budget it. No more than 1.5k though. My budget doesn't include accessories.

Again I really appreciate any help I can get.

Made something quickly during class. This includes windows 10 and a monitor. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Astram/saved/BdTgsY

I'd go for a 1TB harddrive since 2TB is a lot and a cheaper case; there are a lot of cheaper cases that have more to offer, case in point:

But that's just my 2 cents :)

I'd agree with you on the case, there are a few cheaper options, personally I just like this one. However, 1TB is not that much anymore and can run out quickly.

No SSD?

Probably could make do with a 250gb SSD and a 1TB HDD

Graphic cards matter too, right?
I wouldn't say 1000 is enough.
It looks like you want a high end gaming pc so I'd say you need around 2000.

Total: $1846.5

This is excluding peripherals such as keyboards, mice etc.
I'm assuming you already have a monitor?
You can tone down a bit on the specs but that is my recommendation.

Can someone explain to me what those two builds could run? I don't mind putting money into a computer but I'd like to know where that money is going.

Psh, lil goody two-shoes.

Also I would guess that a good chunk of those 300+ games you don't even play so yeah 1TB HDD and 240 SSD should be sufficient.

Just build the guy something that'll get him by without too much trouble I don't think he has reached that level yet.

For my build basically
Your games will look nice, FPS shouldn't be too bad either.
You should be able to stream / recoord
You should be able to run alot of programs fine
Quite abit of storage too.
