Misunderstanding

So a friend of mine on the internet asked me if I know a guy who'd hire him for content writing, I replied "No, but I might help you." I then proceeded to tell him about this business my friend's in and he must've taught I was talking about those networking scams and so he blocked me. Why am I posting this here? Well I just wanna ask is this enough reason for him to call the police on me? Those networking scams are a big problem in my country and I'm pretty sure he thought I was trying to convince him to get in that type of scam.

Sorry if I look stupid asking this, I'm uneducated in things like these.

This.

For an officer to arrest you there are 2 main factors that come in to play;

- Justified suspicion
- Proof

None of these apply, so you're free. Also, If you're under 18 there's even less to worry about.

He's probably walked away thinking 'this guy tried scamming me' and I doubt he'd be able to do much anyway because as you said, he's an internet friend (I'm hoping that also means he doesn't have your details since you shouldn't ). IF for some reason the police did get involved, they'd be looking for links between you and the scam networks and of course they'd turn up with nothing. There's nothing to worry about.

I wouldn't stress too much about it dude, if anything does happen it's not like you've done anything wrong!

you could go to jail and face a maximum sentencing of 5 years

5hift 04-11-2017 04:18 PM

Damn, almost got him...

Fysez 04-11-2017 06:04 PM

Besides, even if your friend was recruiting for some internet scam, it's likely the police wouldn't care enough to do anything about it anyways unless it was some huge deal that involves drugs and murder.

Then again, I have no idea what country you live in

Doubt you'll get arrested. Also, tell him he's an idiot. You won't get arrested for that either
