Starbound

What is it?

terraria but better

Fulgore 02-09-2017 05:37 AM

Idk about better, but it is a fantastic terreria-esque game. The progress from alpha to now is fantastic, and while the story can get a little repetitive, it's still a fun experience alone or with others.

Cool game but it runs like **** on low end computers which is surprising since its a 2D pixel game. I had no problems running Terraria but this game really likes to embarrass my laptop.

The game itself isn't very well optimized for higher end PCs either.

The base game is pretty cool but mods make the game infinity better.

Also Avali FTW.

I found it more immersive than Terraria, which led me to enjoying it a lot more.

It's un-optimized in general lol

Yeah its really annoying, the min-requirements for this game are misleading as hell.

If you barely exceed the min-req you'll still have a **** time running the game.

But I've gotten by ok, but just feels annoying to play sometimes with the absurd lag in some areas.

Some mods I'd recommend are Frackin Universe, Avali, Weapon Assembly, XS Mechs & ZZ Mechs, and Manufacturer's Touch.

Alright, Should I buy it, or would it be too simalr to trarraria, or buy stardew valley, or something esle?

5hift 02-12-2017 12:39 AM

Nah its way different from Terraria, especially from a modding aspect.

Stardew Valley is a totally different kind of game.

If you prefer crafting, cool combat, and exploration, get Starbound.

If you like more casual storytelling, farming and also crafting then get Stardew Valley.

Both are great games.

Is your system 32 bit?

Well my laptop can't run the normal star bound, so I have to play the 32 bit one.

MisterFace 02-13-2017 04:25 AM

Should I get this? The reviews are saying its bad since release, I dunno if i hsould.

Fulgore 02-13-2017 03:12 PM

I thought it was great fun, especially playing with one other person. But I'm someone who enjoys these kinds of games as a general rule, so slightly biased.
