Graphics, Trinkets, and a Lack of Game
I honestly wish I could say that I'm excited about the new content released in the castle, but there's one thing that I can't seem to understand. Why has so much time been devoted to this castle update as opposed to the new guild system? I realize this is somewhat of a meme at this point, but this really baffles me. The removal of the old guild system was understandable, as it had just become a rinse & repeat game of the same groups forming different guilds to farm 1K hats. However, now we are left with no reward system at all, no incentive to compete with other guilds or players, aside from the leaderboards, which really serve no purpose other than self-advertisement. Which brings me to the crux of the matter: Why have the dev team's efforts been put towards this castle update as opposed to the guild system? I almost certainly come off as an entitled ingrate when I say this, but it's been months since we've had any form of reward system in place, and the game is growing very stale as a result. In its current state, it's little more than a chat room with stat grinding. I'm sure you guys are working as fast as you can to get this new system out for us, but the game is in desperate need of revitalization, and it needs it very soon.

I think the new guild system will revolve around castle. Rumored, I think, there will be a guild hall in the castle.

The development team works in a way that allows them to focus on developing various projects at once while still being efficient.
A big portion of the castle update is the greatly improved graphics, something that would have been worked on by a graphics artist who really wouldn't have been needed for the new guild system development. If we look at some of the recently added things that would require scripting such as accessories, who's to say this won't play a part in the new guild system? Maybe it's a potential reward, and if not, there are a couple developers who are capable of producing something like accessories on their own, which allows other developers to work on the new guild system. The new bounty system is something that appeals to a larger audience than those just interested in guilds and adds more dynamic game play overall, I don't see an issue with this having been worked on alongside the new guild system since they have to focus on the server as a whole which includes accessories as that appeals to a larger audience as well. The warp ring will be extremely useful come the new guild system as well, and it's really good they added it. I don't really think it's fair to say they just dropped the new guild system for this because it's not like they stopped working on it all together just for this, they have several developers and they know how to use them best there's no sense in wasting all your developers on one project when you could better use them on other things. |
The 'new guild system' should be the next big update we release, the castle update (*cough* guild accessories *cough*) was always going to come first.
