Graal Staff Payments?
How much do admins get paid in gralats each month and does anything you do affect said amount?
I'm pretty sure it was like 20k per month nowadays which is like $7. That raises another question, why do admins spend like 50 hours a month for the value of $7 If it's around that much you'd basically have more gralats/hour than an admin who spends more time than you while having more of an annoying task. Ofcourse graal is a hobby as staff but with values like this isn't it basically childlabour? This is just something I'm wondering. I'm pretty sure other people would like to know things like these aswell, they play a part in why someone would be interested in getting hired and if it's worth their time or not. So yeah, what are you peoples thoughts on this and it'd be nice if some staff could give some information on how they work nowadays aswell. |
Differs from server to server, from work to work. And why? Because it's voluntary work, those 20k or whatever they get a month is not your payment, it's rather a gift/thank you.

You can't equate Gralats to real money in this scenario because it's not intended to be a paid position.
It's always been a volunteer position, receiving Gralats for it is more like a thank-you bonus than a method of payment for their service. It's not child labor because they know they are not going to be paid in real money before they start working and they are free to leave whenever they want and aren't forced to work a certain amount of hours, although I believe there is a minimum they have to do but it's pretty low and makes sense because if they are barely doing anything there's no point in having them along. Obviously there is exceptions to this but generally it prevents people from becoming an admin and then not doing anything. Given there's about 730 hours in a month, 50 hours isn't really that much. |
Sorry but being an admin of a game can't be called a job.

I just don't really get why someone in one of those positions would be fine with that since there's different opportunities out there |
Because Graal is a hobby and something they enjoy doing.
The people who actually invest time and work into Graal (developers) already have jobs in the technology field or the field they enjoy doing, most developers have been involved with Graal for years it's just something they enjoy doing in their spare time, seeing your work become something people come to enjoy is also a pretty good feeling. Being a basic GP there aren't really any opportunities out there because being an administrator on a game is not a career choice. |

'Different opportunities' most of the admins are 12 years old, please could you expand on what other opportunities they have? |

Developing and pixel art can get you actual jobs, leveling can too if you really stand out, lots of games struggle with level designs |

I personally just wondered why the main providers of the game earned so little compared to the great work they deliver, even if it's just for fun or a hobby. |
