Don't have the clouds fade out, simply make them get removed when: x < screen.width - cloud.width;
Also the cloud movement on the y-axis should be momentum based instead of constant. While tapping on the screen have a value... let's say, velocity, and set that value to 10(this of course would need to be a value that matches whatever scale you're using in your game). When not tapping on the screen have that velocity value lower constantly. Then, have something like: cloud.y += velocity;. This will make the cloud jump up, and then slowly begin to fall instead of instantly falling. Basically the movement of the cloud will look more natural, instead of moving like this /\/\/\. I don't know if you're actually coding, or if it's purely GUI-based though. |

http://i.imgur.com/0gCG0k1.gif The trail explains the movement I was implying with your cloud. It invokes a more natural feeling than just instant up and instant down. You'll also note the enemy clouds on the left. In the same way you create clouds outside the boundaries of the screen on the right, you'll want to destroy them outside of the boundaries on the left. |

I am getting scary deja-vu from this thread.

I only added the trail to visually show the movement of the cloud, tomorrow I can do a version that works like yours so you can see the difference. |
