Giving money to the homeless
 

I don't know, how do you guys feel about this? I usually never give them anything at all because I don't trust them and, hey, it's my money! Plus, who knows the kinds of things they'll buy with it. So yeah, what do you guys think?

I give sometimes. We gave a homeless family 5 bags of food once.

I wouldn't give cash, but I give water bottles or things like that, or coupons for food. Not gonna let someone buy cigarettes or beer with my money.

I rarely give money directly to the homeless. I usually donate to my church, who in turn use those goods/money to host events and provide services for those in need, such as coat drives, food drives, etc.

Be sure to video it or it didn't happen.

I gave a homeless man $20 outside of my house. Before I knew it, my whole town was covered with homeless people! Just walking around like zombies only saying "spare some change." My town had to have a lockdown until we were finally able to get the homeless people to migrate to California. I learned that giving money to the homeless is a terrible idea.

Really depends on the situation. If they come up and ask I'll usually give em something.

If they feel the need to buy alcohol with that money, none of my business. It's theirs now.

Usually food or $1 I give away. I usually give more to folks with talents (ones that sing, do poetry, dancing, etc).


Lots of homeless in NYC's subway system

The only homeless people around here are full on drug addicts and dangerous to be around cud of that.
There's barely any homeless people around my area anyways though
So no I don't give money to the homeless and wouldn't ever since food/water just seems better aswell

I know this one homeless band here that performs every day, I usually drop them a 5$ because it's good music, and it kinda makes a dreary downtown more lively.

Homeless in my town stand under no soliciting signs and act lowkey about it.

Giving food/water or other basic essentials like a nice coat are a much better idea than just money.

If they seem genuine and not a druggie I'll buy some food and drink, never just money
