Soccer/Futbol Arena Queue
So I was playing a friendly soccer/futbol match at Brothers'
Do you guys think an arena for futbol would be cool? I know it's not a 1v1 tourney or a Tag team tourney, but it's new, and seems like fun, if some stuff were changed to make it more official. A queue icon with a ball Teams are 3v3 Goalie can only move up and down, in front of the goal. (Like Pong) When you score a goal, everyone resets to set positions. Timer = 3 seconds. Team that didn't score gets to kick off the ball. Maybe best 3/5? So first team to 3 points wins. You can join with your guild, or you can solo queue. (Not sure if fp4 knows how to combine both into one queue...) Before the match starts, players have to say "heads" or "tails". The first person to say either decides the option chosen for their team. Maybe later on, other things could be added like: Tournaments, Trophy + Guild name at the Stadium. Leaderboard (Rated by Guild wins) It seems like a lot of fun, if you add some skill to it. Teammates setting up for the cross, maybe a celebration (When a team scores they do the :hi5 gani). What do you guys think? Seems casual enough. |
Good stuff. Only suggestion(might be talking out of my ass) would be control performance. Having PS/xbox mechanics(not sure how hard that would be) would make it much fun, but might be too much/overkill.

If it was more popular... as in if there were dozens of players waiting... I could see the point... but the most traffic that place sees is when the admins give a hide and seek clue relating to football.

Would play.

I agree it could be fleshed out. In its current state, though, there isn't much activity there.

I don't think there would be an issue with activity. That just sounds like a really lame excuse for developers to not pursue this. If a system were to actually be created for it, all that would be necessary to create activity would be the announcement of the rehaul in the news. Just look at what happened when they announced the new GS stuff. Lots of veteran sparrers were actually afraid Belle Spar was going to "die" because of how many people started sparring there. I mean, sparring at Belle has always been around and it suddenly gained TONS of activity just because they made one minor addition to it and announced it. The soccer arena would just have to be enjoyable enough that a decent number of people actually stick around and continue to play even after the initial few days following the announcement.

1. The current field is not that big. 2. The goalie's box should only be there if the goalie is strafing at all times, otherwise I think it would be harder to catch the ball with glove button. |
