showbugprice, showlootprice

I think there should be commands that allow players to see how much their current amount of bugs/loot will sell for. This would be especially useful for players who are grinding many hours on bug catching/looting and don't want to go all the way to the Swamp treehouse/cave next to Sardon in order to see how much their stuff will sell for.

This will destroy the immersive qualities that the game has

The value for each bug will have to be updated daily due to the witch paying more for a different bug daily.

Loot would be odd to implement. As far as I know, the various NPCs around Graal who buy specific loot pay more for those than Eldon the Hoarder would. So the prices have to be locked to Eldon, which isn't the best price, or locked to all the NPCs. There is also a trouble with locking it to NPCs due to the baby who collects beach-type items requires a VIP subscription to access. Players who don't have access to it will not be able to actually acquire the maximum value should they sell there collection, making knowing the value of their loot given they have beach-type items worthless because they'll have to sell to them to Eldon.

I hope showbugprice and showlootprice is added on animal crossing!!!

Such as? You'll have to walk to the areas anyway if you want to actually sell them. This mainly prevents the running back and forth.

I suppose this is true, although to make things simpler I think maybe it would be better to only show how much Elster would buy them for? I typically just sell all of my loot to Elster, but I don't know.

Not to be rude here, but it just don't see the usefulness. People never(or should never) sell their bug below the 2x price if they're looking to maximize gralats(which most of them are). So updating it to show how much your hoard is worth may be a waste. Loot I can understand, but as stated earlier in the thread, their are many NPC's around the map that buy loot. Do you take Elster's total price or the highest possible value of your loot? I also don't ever see people really running back and forth checking their price. Though I'm not a part of the loot community.

Ill be honest, I just don't see the usefulness of such an update

this pretty much sums it up. AND IT's ELSTER NOT ELDON gosh.

The total sum for bugs could include any extra gralats the witch will pay for a certain bug.

I kinda see this as a more useful thing for loot, because as you said people tend to sell their hordes of bugs on individual days instead of all at once.

I typically just sell my loot all at once, I don't really bother going to the different NPCs on the map.

I'm sorry, you're playing an MMO. Majority things should be accessible, there's a thread for bug prices from what I know of, loot priced for NPCs I'm sure there's also a thread on that(correct me if I'm wrong on this), so I disagree with the idea. Correct me if I'm wrong again it may cause lag and a change in coding to make it work, but hey just spend a minute to check an NPC on a game you're gonna be spending a good amount of your time on.

It depends. A lot of the time I see people working toward a specific amount of loot, such as 100, before selling. They don't check the price as they go, only when they reach their goal of 100 and then sell. This is usually what I do. However, if I am working toward a high set goal of gralats or just a big indiscriminate goal in general such as saving up for christmas I'll keep looting without selling and I will definitely periodically check the price as I go. Is it pretty annoying going across the map? Yeah, I guess so. But the factor of all the NPCs vs. Elster does break this arguement up. I see most people here and those I know just dump everything with Elster because it's hard to learn all the different NPC locations and what each person wants to buy. However, once you memorize these it is totally worth it. When selling larger quantities of loot I notice huge differences in gralat gain between me and my friends even if we have similar quantity of loot.

Basically, it would be worth it to have showlootprice if a decisions is made on if it's for Elster or a max price for the NPCs. Honestly, since the majority of people seem to go for Elster only this would be a useful implement to simply show the Elster price and be done with it. I would probably do a poll first of NPC vs Elster just to be sure.

Don't think anyone really wants to do the math to see how much money they'd get (at least for loot). For bugs, maybe, which is why this idea is more useful for looting. I don't honestly see the harm in this, so why shouldn't it be considered for future updates? It would be convenient for players working towards a desired amount of money rather than a desired amount of loot.

Usually when I loot my main goal is just to get 1k gralats or so. I suppose stocking up and selling them to their designated buyers is useful, but the option would still be convenient. If your loot sells for, say, 9,800 gralats to Elster, then it would be safe to assume that by selling each item to its designated buyer will get you above 10k.

Yeah, probably best to just show the loot price for Elster only and not bother with the other NPCs. The problem with showing the price for the other NPCs is most people aren't going to bother going to every individual NPC all across the map memorizing each specific item they buy when most of the time the difference between Elster and the NPC ranges 2-5 gralats. Almost nobody is going to obtain the "maximum" amount if that option is chosen to be displayed for the command.

Droid 01-20-2016 08:06 AM

Best idea in a long time. Just lock the prices to the NPC who buys them all so you know what the minimum price would be. +rep

Aguzo 01-20-2016 08:49 AM

I just don't understand why they have not made the npcs ask to buy all of the loot that they specifically want. Beats going to loot, and remembering/figuring out which npc wants to buy which item.

Immersive? Can you do showlootprice in real life? No, you'd have to research it or go to a shop. Graal isn't the kind of game to use commands all the time to help get what you want with no work. You'll have to travel there like in real life or ask a friend to help you.

Ya because that's how games work. You use your brain
